Work and Research
I have a PhD in Water Resources Science obtained from Rhodes University in South Africa (2018). I am a Carnegie Early Career Research Leader Fellow at the University of Pretoria. I am passionate about solving freshwater quality threats brought by anthropogenic activities. I use drone technology for ecosystem mapping and to gather large water quality datasets for monitoring ecosystems to protect humans and the environment. I have developed and published salinity and acid mine drainage water quality guidelines using risk-based approaches. My research also straddles around trait-based approaches in water quality management. Current research focusses on impacts of water pollution on ecosystem services.
