Work and Research
The UVRI-IAVI mission is to conduct and support research, education, capacity building and advocacy and to contribute an AIDS Vaccine and HIV prevention especially in vulnerable and high risk groups. The Program was developed to conduct HIV vaccine trials and other activities in preparation for future HIV vaccine trials. It is important to build other areas of research since the number of HIV vaccines being tested has gone down and the number of testing partners has grown. I am specifically interested in building research in areas of HIV co-morbidities specifically in Malaria and TB. At present most of the funds are from IAVI internationally and it is important to build the fund base.
