Work and Research

After researching on various issues on development in West Africa, my current works examine how Informality shapes, (re) structure at borderlands African citizens everyday life. By using critical, decolonial, and empirical perspective, the works question the crossroads of mobility, technology, innovation, poverty, and development issues stressed by local communities in the context of lack of State or of pushing various practical norms as well as governance paradigms. I (co) authored several works published in international journals, including five books, and receive several prizes in Africa and Canada, as well as the Iso Lomso Fellowship from Stellenbosch University, and scholarships from IAS Princeton (USA), The Edinburgh University and Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris)
