A biochemist by training with expertise in preclinical drug development, I am currently an Associate Professor at the Preclinical Drug Development Platform, North-West University, South Africa. I have co-authored 20 publications and two book chapters. My most cited article continues to serve as a reference point for publications in intestinal absorption of drugs. This article came about from a research fellowship, served at AstraZeneca R&D pharmaceutical company, in a public-private partnership project involving ten institutions. After a two year postdoctoral in the Netherlands, I spent four years as a Senior Researcher at The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in Pretoria, South Africa.
