Malaria remains the most lethal parasitic disease, resulting in approx. 250 000 annual recorded deaths globally. Antimalarial drug combinations are currently essential for malaria treatment and control. However, emerging drug resistance threatens the use of these drugs, necessitating the need for novel antimalarial treatment strategies for effective malaria control and elimination.
