Work and Research
My research career is driven by the need to address challenges in a clinical setting. My PhD titled'Determining the diagnostic accuracy of 68Ga-citrate PET.CT in distinguishing benign from malignant lesions in the lung' involved the use of an under- utilized generator-based PET tracer in a novel setting. In South Africa, patients who present with lung lesions often provide clinicians with a diagnostic challenge, especially in the presence of HIV-co-infection. From my PhD thesis, I published several peer-reviewed articles and presented the findings at our national congress SASNM and at three international conferences.
