Work and Research

My PhD research was conducted in demographically segregated and predominantly black township schools of Pretoria- East where I examined the relationship between resilience and school context. My research interests centers around contextual influences on child development, resilience, assets, racial identity, school culture and HIV/AIDS. I was selected into the university of Michigan African Presidential Scholar Programme (UMAPS, 2010), by African Studies Centre and Research Capacity building initiative scholarship programme (SANPAD). I aim to publish articles with every research project I am involved in.
