Prof Stephanie Burton was appointed as Vice-Principal responsible for Research and Postgraduate Education at the University of Pretoria in 2011 to 2020. She was previously a senior lecturer in Biochemistry at Rhodes University and then a senior lecturer, associate professor and full professor in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town from 2001 to 2008 as well as Director of Postgraduate Studies at Cape Peninsula University of Technology, before joining the University of Pretoria.
