Work and Research
As a veterinarian, I have spent much of my career attempting to strengthen the bridges between human, animal and environmental health in South Africa. I joined a field epidemiology residency programme (South African Field Epidemiology Training Programme) with the National Institute for Communicable Diseases in an attempt to broaden my perspective on One Health and completed a Master's Degree in Public Health in 2017. My dissertation focused on antibiotic resistant Staphylococcus aureus isolates in poultry meat and was published in the Journal of the South African Veterinary Association.
