Work and Research
My works includes phytomedicine, pharmacognosy, alternative and complementary medicine, pharmacological (e.g antidiabetic, antimicrobial, antioxidant, etc potential) and cosmeceutical (e.g anti-ageing and antigyperpigmentation) evaluation of aromatic plant derived essential oils. I also work with the identification and classification of essential oil chemical constituents using Gas chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) techniques. In addition I work with the appraisal of medicinal plants traditionally used to treat and manage diseases and the valorisation of natural products and plant derived phytochemicals. I also review work highlighting the pharmacological properties of plants as sources of bioactive compounds.
