Bolanle Ojokoh is a Professor and head of the department of Information Systems of the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. She has twenty years of University teaching experience and has headed a team of researchers over the years in Artificial Intelligence, with particular interest in Information Filtering and Extraction, Recommender Systems, and Gender issues. She has won a number of national and international travel and research grants and projects as PI/co-PI, including TWAS -COMSTECH Joint Research Grant, TWAS/Elsevier Foundation sponsored Big Data, Analytics and Machine Intelligence Symposium and Workshop ( and NRF-TETFUND ( Grants. She has participated in and facilitated a number of scientific events and workshops. She is a member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and currently a Co-Chair of the prestigious TWAS Young Affiliates Network (TYAN). Till date, she has been involved in several data analytics projects. She developed novel models for metadata extraction from heterogeneous references and documents. She has also worked extensively in development of recommendation algorithms. She has also collaborated with other researchers, within and outside the chores of Nigeria, in her area of interest. She has presented paper in several international events. She is a member of Oranization of Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD), Association of Computing Machinery, and a Co-Chair of the TWAS Young Affiliates Network (TYAN). She has keen interest in advancing science and sustainable development. With her research she supports Gender Equality, Good Health and Well-Being, Zero Hunger and Partnership for the Goals especially with AI, hence she has collaborated on projects, co-organized and spoken in many events within Nigeria, and across Africa, Europe and other continents. She has produced up to 25 Masters and 9 Ph.D students, and has over 100 publications.
