Dr. David Dodoo-Arhin is currently the Ag. Director of the Institute of Applied Science and Technology (IAST): An Institute in the University of Ghana which serves as a platform for the transfer of knowledge, technology and innovation developed at the University to industry and communities. He Holds a BSc degree in Physics and post-graduate Diploma in Science Education (PGDE) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He obtained his PhD degree in Materials Engineering from the Department of Materials Engineering and Industrial Technologies, University of Trento-Italy in 2010 with particular focus on nanostructured Oxides for energy and Environmental applications.

Research Profiles

My contribution to science and its impact on society

As the Director of the Institute of Applied Science and Technology, I provide platforms for industry academia research activities beneficial to the country. I am an executive member of X-ray African network society promoting science across the sub-region. I teach and supervise students in their research activities both at the Undergraduate and graduate levels. As a coordinator of the UG-African Materials Science and Engineering network, I seek to promote the advancement of materials science and engineering research for both students and staff of node institutions across Africa. I am also on the Department?s science outreach programme to the senior high schools.
