Work and Research

I am molecular biologist where my research focused on assessing resistant genotypes of Plasmodium falciparum parasites for antimalarial drugs. I worked in different research projects which generated useful findings, some of which have been published in peer review journals. I have conducted different genotyping techniques for detection of infectious parasites, asymptomatic individuals, parasite cultures and malaria diagnostic technologies. I conducted malaria diagnosis using magnetic cytosmear technique to identify submicroscopic infections in the field, which was the first study to be conducted in country. Moreover, I plan to extend the application of magnetic devices not only on infectious diseases but also in the identification and separation of free labelled-cancer cells.
