Work and Research

My research is focused on exploring the potential of natural antioxidants in alleviating oxidative stress in poultry production. I am exploring the potential of a herbal shrub named Hibiscus sabdariffa calyces which is native to Africa. My target bird is the quail seeing as there is growing interest in quail farming in many African countries including Zimbabwe. Poultry production is generally faced with many challenges and among them is oxidative stress which tends to reduce the product quality and in this case the meat and eggs. Many researches have been done using other plants and have focused on chickens however, there is a dearth of information as to how to improve quail production.
