Work and Research
My research involves child mental-health research especially in the areas of cross-cultural validity study of commonly used measurement tools in child psychiatry research; child mental-health services in high-impact settings such as schools and youth correctional facilities; and epidemiology of and organisation of services for childhood neuro-developmental disorders including language disorders, autism, and intellectual disabilities. Mental-health literacy research including cultural explanatory models; integration of mental-health contents into school health-education curricula; use of movies to promote mental-health literacy; and use of peer-led educators to promote identification and treatment of common mental disorders in school settings.
