Work and Research

Patrick Pizette is an Associate Professor at the University of Lille/IMT Lille Douai in France since 2011. He holds a PhD in engineering from Grenoble-INP and French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). His work focuses on the development of industrial scale discrete element models for granular material processing in Civil Engineering and Material Sciences. This is enabled by High-Performance Computing, notably through the application of multi-GPU compute nodes. He is actively establishing research and teaching collaborations between France and Africa, notably Tunisia, Morocco, South Africa, Algeria, Cameroon and Senegal. Collaboration with EBIT Faculty at the University Pretoria has been active since 2015, visiting professor in 2018 and Future Africa Fellow in 2020.
