I work to enable talented, emerging health researchers enhance their skills, performance and careers.
As Deputy Director of the Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF), I work with the Director, Professor Tumani Corrah, and partner organisations to create new developmental opportunities for talented early-career health researchers in sub-Saharan Africa.
AREF was established in 2015 by the Medical Research Foundation, a UK-registered charity, to nurture African biomedical and health research at its most vulnerable points.
Our flagship programme is AREF Research Development Fellowship Programme (http://www.medicalresearchfoundation.org.uk/aref/ ).
