Work and Research
After completing a PhD in ecology at UKZN, I joined UCT as a postdoctoral fellow. I am now completing my third year as a senior lecturer on the Qwaqwa campus of the UFS, having brought a unique and different skill set to our small outpost of the department of Plant Sciences. I am in a prime position to build a strong collaborative base to host national and international pollination and vegetation ecologists wanting to work in the grassland and alpine regions of the eastern Free State, in particular the Northern Maluti-Drakensberg region. I am one of only very few scent ecologists in the country and bring a novel evolutionary aspect to Qwaqwa projects on plant-animal interactions.
