Work and Research

I am Sherry Johnson, a lecturer in the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ghana with a PhD in Veterinary Clinical Studies. With a background in applied epidemiology, my research focus has been on neglected zoonotic diseases (be it in food or companion animals) and “One Health” approach to tackling these diseases. Some diseases that I have worked on include Rabies, Q fever and currently Rift Valley Fever. I believe that researching and controlling diseases that can be passed on from animals to humans ultimately save human lives. My passion is to research into such diseases and publicize them for action. When not teaching, investigating a disease or writing, I enjoy reading at the beach.
