Prof Tumani Corrah
Work and Research
Professor Tumani Corrah is director of the Africa Research Excellence Fund and the UK Medical Research Council’s Foundation director of Africa Research Development. He is the first Emeritus Director of the UK MRC Gambia Unit. These positions provide Tumani with the ideal platform from which to work with partners to enhance research excellence by supporting emerging and talented African researchers. Tumani’s new role plays to his personal passion for growing a new generation of outstanding, African research leaders working on health challenges in Africa for Africa. He is a Gambian research clinician, with over thirty years of progressively senior-level experience in a leading research institution in Africa.
