Work and Research
My research interest spans across the fields of social, economic and development geography with specific focus on water, sanitation and energy infrastructure; informality, mobility and livelihood; environmental management; public health; climate change and governance. I am interested in promoting inclusive development and environmental sustainability, in the context of pro-poor urban governance, climate adaptation and education, and the application of transdisciplinary research methodology. My compelling curiosity, passion and vision for the future of African science has occasioned the creation of research clusters to accelerate climate action and raise youth champions to drive community change. Over the past nine years I have participated in international transdisciplinary research projects and undertaken national assignments for industry and government, and my research works have not only shaped urban policies in Ghana but translated into interventions and practice. I have previously been involved in IPCC work. As a focal person (during my postdoc fellowship at UNU-INRA), I coordinated an IPCC outreach event in Ghana which was co-organized by UNU-INRA, IPCC and AAS and involved participation from scientists, parliamentarians, industry players, youth groups etc. Recently, I have been awarded the Best Overall Researcher in the College of Humanities, University of Ghana, and a fellowship from the Future Africa Research Leadership Fellowship (FAR-LeaF) programme.
