Bio
My research expertise falls within the aegis of applied and environmental microbiology, antimicrobial resistance and water quality. I have contributed significantly to antimicrobial resistance genes, class 1 intergrons and multi-drug resistance genes located on chromosomes or plasmids in Aeromonas and Pseudomonas strains from aquaculture, abattoir and wastewater treatment facilities in Nigeria and South Africa. My research findings have addressed the relationship between human, social and technological development and the quality of water resources. I have established in my findings that the emerging paradigm of sustainable human development recognizes that the distribution of novel chemical entities in the environment is a significant threat to global health and productivity.
