Professor Adeyinka Adepoju is passionate for research in the fields of Taxonomy, Biodiversity, Phytomedicine, and Environmental Management. Over the past years, he has been engaged in a variety of initiatives to enhance research in some West African nations. His successfully completed, novel research works involved the resolution of plant taxonomical issues, biomonitoring, food safety, ethnopharmacological surveys, synthesis of green nanoparticles, and biodiversity studies. He has participated in a number of projects, including the TreeTown Project by the mayor and Municipal Council of Freetown, Sierra Leone (2019), to plant 1 million trees; and CITES’ Non-Detrimental Finding (NDF) on Pterocarpus erinaceus in Sierra Leone, etc. Adeyinka Adepoju has published about 40 journal articles, presented some others at conferences, and delivered public lectures. He has been able to supervise many research projects, including those by some Postgraduate students. His publications have attracted more than 400 citations from various countries, on Google Scholar. Adeyinka developed the curriculum for new BSc, MSc, and Ph.D. science programs, has reviewed articles for a number of reputable journals, and is an editorial board member of the Journal of Medicinal Plants for Economic Development (JOMPED). He currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Research and Innovations at AME University, Liberia, as a result of his versatile nature. In his current role, he promotes innovative research programs, contributes to policy issues, and reviews research materials. He has worked at some other universities, where he participated in teaching, carrying out research, and mentoring others. Considering the candidate’s experience, achievements, current research activities, and position, he stands out among peers, and he is appropriately placed on the stage for further impact, both locally and internationally. The ASLP training has enhanced his leadership skills and abilities for greater impact, especially on the broader networks with whom he has been connected.
