Prof. Marmar El Siddig is a Full Professor of Microbiology & Biotechnology at the Faculty of Science, University of Khartoum, Sudan. She graduated in 2000 with B.Sc. (Hons.) degree, then get M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in 2004 and 2009 and she was a postdoctoral research scholar at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA (2012). Prof. El Siddig was the Dean Faculty of Science, University of Khartoum (2017-2019). In addition, she has been awarded the AU-TWAS Prize for Young Researchers in Developing Countries in 2013 and the University of Khartoum Merit Researchers Award in 2016. She is conducting and supervising research studies in the field of prevalence and epidemiology of some bacterial species and the utilization of Molecular Markers to understand antimicrobial resistance.
