Education, Training & Capacity Building
The UNU Hub on REACH-AFRICA develops and implements various capacity development programmes. The programmes aim to build individual, institutional, and community capabilities related to water, agriculture, land, climate change, and planetary health.
A core focus is the implementation of postgraduate training and degrees and the development of regional capacity-strengthening initiatives that promote interdisciplinary, African-led research and innovation.
Postgraduate and Professional Training Programmes to be offered include:
- Joint Master’s Programmes (MSc)
- Joint Doctoral Programmes (PhD)
- Joint Certificate Programmes
Short Courses and Online Learning to be offered include:
- Online Training Certificate in African Food Systems: An open-access course designed to build foundational knowledge of the unique dynamics of African food systems.
- Online Seminar Series and Masterclasses:
Focus on climate adaptation, integrated systems thinking, and community-based environmental monitoring.
