Work and Research
I am passionate about promoting interdisciplinary research and engaging society in science conversations. My research involves interdisciplinary concepts, including Smart agriculture, fractional-order systems, embedded systems, hardware accelerators, data encryption, security, and energy harvesting, contributing to Egypt's sustainable development goals and the SDGs. I promote diversity, inclusion in engineering and encourage scholars, particularly women, to pursue research careers. I supervise a team of 8 current Master's students, 14 finished Master's degrees, and one finished PhD from different electrical engineering tracks. The outcomes of my work are over 170 publications. According to Scopus, I have an H-index of 28. I have built a collaboration network by partnering with esteemed institutions across different countries, allowing me to expand my research and its impact. I obtained many grants as a PI (one national, 3 from NU, 4 international), 4 national grants as a co-PI, and (3 national, 6 international) as a member. Investing in the next generation of researchers is essential for advancing development and addressing today's global concerns, which my grants support. I am a reviewer for 14 international journals and four conferences. I am a technical program committee member of several international conferences. I joined the editorial board of AEU-Elsevier, Electronics-MDPI and Frontiers in Electronics. I am committed to supporting capacity-building for young researchers. I am the co-chair of the Egyptian Young Academy of Sciences (EYAS) members to empower young Egyptian scientists, a steering committee member of the Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA), an African Academy of Science (AAS) affiliate member, a Member of the Council for future studies and risk management and a TWAS Young Affiliate. I received awards, including the state encouragement award for engineering science, the Excellence Award for the best PhD thesis, IEEE Outstanding Branch Counselor Award, and the Junior Faculty Development Program from Fulbright.
