Bio
The primary focus of my research is HIV drug discovery whereby we screen natural and synthetic agents for anti-HIV activity. This is usually done through in vitro testing against HIV enzymes and latent HIV reactivators. It is important to note here that there are currently no drugs on the market targeting latent HIV and there’s ongoing search for potential therapies targeting the dormant virus. The natural agents that are used in my studies are usually natural products traditionally used to alleviate symptoms of HIV and associated infections.
