Bio
Professor Stephanie Burton is the Programme Leader of the Future Africa Research Leadership Fellowship (FAR-LeaF) and a Senior Professor at Future Africa. She is also a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Pretoria (UP) and an Honorary Professor at Rhodes University.
A former Vice-Principal for Research and Postgraduate Education at UP, she is a Fellow and past President of the Royal Society of South Africa and has served as interim President of the Academy of Science of South Africa (ASSAf). Professor Burton leads several national projects on postgraduate training and academic capacity development and represents South Africa in global science partnerships, including Future Earth, the International Academy Partnership, and the G20 Science and Bioeconomy initiatives.
