UNU Hub REACH-AFRICA contributes to digital agriculture and AI policy brief for climate resilience in Zimbabwe

The United Nations University Hub on Resilient Environment, Agriculture, Climate and Health for Africa (REACH-AFRICA), hosted at Future Africa, University of Pretoria, contributed to a new policy brief on digital agriculture and artificial intelligence for climate-resilient smallholder farming in Zimbabwe. Published by the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH), the brief highlights how digital technologies can strengthen agrifood systems under increasing climate pressure.

The brief was presented at a Science–Policy Dialogue held in Harare, Zimbabwe, on 9–10 March 2026, which brought together policymakers, researchers, and development partners to explore evidence-based solutions. It outlines how digital tools can improve access to information, markets, and financial services, while strengthening farmers’ ability to respond to climate risks. The brief also emphasises the need for inclusive policies, coordinated investment, and strengthened partnerships to ensure that digital innovation benefits all farmers.
