The critiques of the Western canon on the relations between society and nature and the consequent practices are useful but have not gone far enough to provide global themes in tune with the African condition. What is the blueprint for how and why we should research the society-nature relations from African(ist) perspectives? How do those perspectives advance progressive policies? The learning lab will engage these questions through an interdisciplinary lens to delineate the scope and directions of African political ecologies (APEs). The main outcome of this engagement is to develop a virtual learning lab for APEs.
